Why We Live in El Dorado County

Placerville – El Dorado County has been my hometown for the last 30 years.  Living here has so many advantages.  The top three advantages are, Location, Location, and Location!  Situated one hour from Lake Tahoe, and two hours from the ocean and San Francisco,  we have beautiful weather with four distinct seasons and just the right amount of snow.  The area is rich with history left over from the Gold Rush days.  Placerville, originally called Hangtown in 1849, was officially renamed Placerville in 1857.  Although Placerville has grown, and what once was a telegraph is now an email,  the sense of community and history remains to this day.  Placerville Hardware, established in 1852, is the oldest active hardware store west of the Mississippi!

My real estate career began by teaming up with my father, Emit Martin, 15 years ago right here in Placerville.  His years of experience in the mortgage and real estate industry helped me immensely during my early years as a Realtor. Thanks Dad!  I also love interior design and specialize in helping you “set the stage” for successfully marketing your home.

About Ralph

My husband, Ralph, has recently joined my team.  He has over 25 years of experience in residential construction and remodeling.  Ralph is a “master craftsman” and well known for his finish carpentry skills.  Together we have successfully remodeled and flipped a few houses.  We pride ourselves in offering a quality product. 

Our Other Interests

You may see us around town at the Farmers Market, hiking on a fairly level trail, out on Jenkinson Lake wake boarding and skiing, or Ralph playing his bass at a local venue. Or we may just be at home working on our second career … trapping moles and keeping deer out of the garden!
